A pastel painting depicting the mystery of the three hours of darkness that fell across the land from noon until 3 while Jesus hung on the cross. There is no darkness or suffering here in this world that God is not only aware of, but is using for eternal weight/purpose. Even though each of us suffer individually very different from each other, we never suffer very differently from God who sacrificed His Son to darkness, pain and loneliness/ separation from love and God. In my painting, the rock of suffering is opening to heaven.
My first love is God's word.. then comes my husband who inspired me to get painting with an easel right after our daughter was born in 2004 (like I had time:). However, you can find a painting here in my gallery called "Dad's Art" that really started my love of art. As a child, I watched my dad create plein air paintings of places we were visiting and I would try sketching them. Since then, I've gone through many forms of art: twisting wire, knotting macrame, sequinning jeans, weaving pine needles, woodworking, crafting, decorating, quilting, scrapbooking, photography and more.
