Southern California has wonderful beaches but Hawaii has the best (within my very limited travels). I'll never forget walking into the waters of Hanauma Bay around midnight and feeling as though I could just drift off and sleep the night away in the water. I felt everything in me just quiet down and relax; that's what made me think of this verse about God. His love will wash over you and quiet everything as you experience the stillness of His peace.

My first love is God's word.. then comes my husband who inspired me to get painting with an easel right after our daughter was born in 2004 (like I had time:). However, you can find a painting here in my gallery called "Dad's Art" that really started my love of art. As a child, I watched my dad create plein air paintings of places we were visiting and I would try sketching them. Since then, I've gone through many forms of art: twisting wire, knotting macrame, sequinning jeans, weaving pine needles, woodworking, crafting, decorating, quilting, scrapbooking, photography and more.
