My son, Jonathan Ruffo, painted this desert scene and I added the Bible verse. Joshua Trees in the Mojave Desert grow in so many crazy ways. I felt this painting illustrates how we need God, not when we feel strong, but when we feel weak.
My first love is God's word.. then comes my husband who inspired me to get painting with an easel right after our daughter was born in 2004 (like I had time:). However, you can find a painting here in my gallery called "Dad's Art" that really started my love of art. As a child, I watched my dad create plein air paintings of places we were visiting and I would try sketching them. Since then, I've gone through many forms of art: twisting wire, knotting macrame, sequinning jeans, weaving pine needles, woodworking, crafting, decorating, quilting, scrapbooking, photography and more.
